New Orleans Airboat Swamp Adventure
Join us for a ride on one of our 6-18 passenger Airboats We pick up at your New Orleans French Quarter, Garden District or Central Business District Hotel and take the short drive out to our office in the swamp of Barataria - Jean Lafitte Swamp. (30 min drive) We hop on the airboats and take off through the winding swamp trails. Our guides may talk with a funny accent - but they know their stuff. The Barataria Preserve outside downtown New Orleans is over 23,000 acres of swamps, bayous, forests and marsh land. Home to over 300 species of birds, Barataria preserve is best explored by Airboat driven by one of our Licensed Captains. The swamps of Barataria were home to the famous pirate Jean Lafitte and this is where he ran his very successful smuggling operation in the early 1800's before his death in 1823. Nestled in the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park our tour provides plenty of chances to see the
local seasonal wildlife:
Tours are approximately 2 hours in duration not including transportation time - Please allow 3.5 -4 hours total with round trip transportation. Small airboat 6-8 People: Advance booking rate $85 per person Large airboat 16-18 People: Advance booking rate $70 per person ***if you drive yourself out to our office in Lafitte, the rate is $20 less per person, you may not ride an airboat if you are pregnant, have a back issue, or are under 4 feet tall. Pick-up times - 8:45 AM - 10:45 AM - 12:45PM - 2:45PM - Starting March 11th
